Getting Started
Appointment Times
Appointment start-times fall within the range listed for each day.
Monday—1:00 pm-7:00 pm
Wednesday—10:00 am-6:00 pm
Friday—10:00 am-5:00 pm
In-Person & Telehealth Available
Telehealth appointments work well for people with busy schedules, those who live far away, and those with health limitations that keep them at home. Telehealth sessions are conducted via Doxy.me, a simple and secure web platform designed specifically for healthcare.
In-person appointments work well for talking about trauma or difficult topics, and when first building connection with your therapist. Because in-person appointments offer much more in the way of non-verbal communication, presence, and felt connection, they are preferred, if possible.
Let’s see if we are the right fit.
Fees & Insurance
The fee for a 50-minute session is $130
Insurance
I am “private pay,” meaning the full session fee is due at the time of your session. If you would like to use your medical insurance to pay for therapy, you may still be able to get partial reimbursement or apply therapy fees to your deductible. To see if this is possible, you can call your insurance company and ask what your benefits are for using an “out-of-network mental health provider” and the process for submitting a claim. I can provide you with a superbill (detailed receipt) for this purpose.
Benefits of Private Pay
I have chosen private pay, because I believe private pay better supports the work we do in therapy.
- You do not need to receive a mental health diagnosis to participate in therapy, a requirement of medical insurance companies.
- We can together determine what to focus on, how often to meet, and how many sessions you need, without being constrained by insurance company guidelines.
- Your information remains confidential between us, rather than being accessible to others through an electronic health record or requested by an insurance company due to an audit.
- You may have Flex Plan benefits or an HSA through your employer that you can use to pay for your therapy sessions.
Sliding Fee
If you are interested in the kind of therapy available at Sagewood but are unable to afford the standard fee, a sliding fee scale based on income is available.

Good Faith Estimate
Under the federal No Surprises Act, if you’re uninsured or you pay for health care bills yourself (don’t have your claims submitted to your insurance), health care providers (including mental health providers) and facilities must provide you with an estimate of expected charges before you receive an item or service. This is called a “good faith estimate.” Providers and facilities must provide you with a good faith estimate if you request one, or after you’ve scheduled an item or service. It should include expected charges for the primary item or service you’re getting, and any other items or services that are provided as part of the same scheduled experience. The provider or facility you contact for a good faith estimate must provide a list of all items and services associated with your care. Your provider will discuss rates during your initial consultation and provide an estimate of fees verbally and follow up with written notice.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers/understanding-costs-in-advance.
Legal Fees
If during the course of our working together you would like me to fill out forms, write a letter, or speak to someone about something outside the scope of your healthcare (for example, disability paperwork or a letter to an employer), there will be an additional fee for these services. See the Good Faith Estimate for a list of the most commonly requested legal services. A full Legal Fee Schedule is available upon request.
Forms and conversations with other healthcare providers about your overall treatment will not incur an additional fee.
